Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and DEM Party Istanbul MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder was hospitalized after suffering a heart attack and was placed in intensive care following a 12-hour surgery.
According to the latest statement from his doctors, Önder remains in critical condition.

Footage of Önder recorded at a restaurant before he suffered the heart attack has emerged. According to the records obtained by Show Haber, Önder had lunch at a restaurant in Beyoğlu during the afternoon hours.
HE CHOSE STUFFED VINE LEAVES AND STEW
In the footage, Önder is seen looking healthy as he enters the restaurant and engages in a warm conversation with the staff. It was learned that he ordered stuffed vine leaves and stew.
HE TOOK A SOUVENIR PHOTO WITH THE BUSINESS OWNER
During the meal, Önder chatted with the restaurant owner, who is also a film producer, Selahattin Kat, and took a souvenir photo with him.
Shortly after leaving the venue in Beyoğlu, Önder fell ill and suffered a heart attack. It was reported that Önder, who was rushed to the hospital by ambulance, had suffered an aortic tear and was consequently taken into a critical 12-hour surgery.
