In the trial where 4 detained suspects are being tried for the brutal murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran in Diyarbakır, facing life imprisonment with no possibility of parole, footage from the Dara region (Şehit Jandarma Uzman Onbaşı Bilal Dicle Surveillance Point) will be examined by the National Criminal Bureau to prepare an expert report.
In an interim decision taken by the Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court, it was decided to conduct an expert examination on the footage from the Dara region added to the case file, and the National Criminal Bureau was appointed as the expert ex officio.
FOOTAGE DELIVERED VIA FLASH DRIVE
After the expert from the National Criminal Bureau, who arrived in Diyarbakır, was duly sworn in, the footage from the region was delivered via a flash drive.
The delivery report prepared by the court included the following regarding the file attachments:
"Attached to the file are the images from the Dara-2 military base camera (the clock in said images is approximately 6 minutes and 45 seconds ahead of the standard time zone), the camera printout included in the file where the locations of the suspects' and the victim's homes are marked, a copy of the statements of suspect Nevzat Bahtiyar, and the narrowed base station data obtained during the investigation phase, which indicates where the suspects were at the alleged time of the crime and shows when Narin passed by the school camera (the school clock in said images is approximately 4 minutes ahead of the standard time zone)."
In addition, the report included the issues the court requested the institution to investigate.
The report recorded the following:
"Given that it is known that after victim Narin was seen on the school camera, she headed towards the path where her own house is located, it is requested to investigate whether she went to Arif Güran's house or barn, or whether she went towards the house of suspect Nevzat Bahtiyar, who is located on the path, or whether suspect Bahtiyar met Narin on the path; to carefully examine whether a girl in black clothing can be identified, especially considering that it is understood from the last image of Narin reflected on the school camera that she was wearing black clothing; and to evaluate the time interval between 15:10 and 15:30, which is the current time, during the examination."
The report requested an examination of "whether suspect Bahtiyar went to Arif Güran's house, whether he left the house, whether he went to his own house or barn carrying something, whether he entered his barn or house, and whether he later left his own house or barn in a red car, taking into account the statements made by suspect Bahtiyar at various stages; and to specify the time interval if these or other issues are identified."
The report, which requested a specific examination of the alleged crime scenes to determine whether a red or white car was detected and whether the cars came together or moved one after the other, included the following:
"If these issues are identified, the time interval, where the vehicles met, and in which direction or destination they moved together or separately must be specified. It must be determined and stated whether there was human activity at Arif Güran's house or barn, which are alleged to be the crime scenes, whether there were people entering or leaving the house, barn, or the gardens around the house, and whether any car came to these areas. It was decided unanimously to evaluate these issues separately and prepare a detailed expert report."
