Galatasaray's annual ordinary budget meeting was held at the Haliç Congress Center. Mehmet Orkun Çiydem, a graduate of Galatasaray High School, criticized the club management for remaining silent following the operation targeting the IBB and Ekrem İmamoğlu on March 19. Çiydem also expressed his resentment that no steps had been taken for the detained youth.

The speech by Mehmet Orkun Çiydem, whose microphone was turned off and who was warned by the council board from time to time, is as follows:

'IF THEY SEIZED OUR TITLE DEEDS TOMORROW, YOU WOULD NOT MAKE A SOUND'

"With the stance it has displayed since March 19, the current management has shown us that it does not uphold Galatasaray values and has lost all its credibility. Therefore, the budget they have prepared has no credibility. Because, dear management, you have clearly shown us that if the title deeds and contracts for our Florya and Kemerburgaz lands were unlawfully canceled tomorrow, you would remain silent. If a president elected by the will of the General Assembly were removed from office the next day and a trustee were appointed in their place, you would remain silent again.

'WHO WILL BUY THE JERSEYS AND MATCH TICKETS YOU SELL?'

Now you have prepared a budget and you say, 'We will generate this much revenue, we will sell this many products.' I ask you, 'Who will buy those products?' or 'Who will come to the Galatasaray matches you represent?' Will it be the young person who has to save up for months from their allowance or salary just to be able to go to a match, but whom you turn your back on?

'THE ONE WHO UNFURLED THE OSIMHEN BANNER HAS BEEN IN JAIL FOR 30 DAYS'

Will it be my student brothers and sisters who spent the holiday in Silivri for no reason, or will it be Berke Doğu Türker or Ege Arifoğlu, who were deprived of their freedom for exactly 30 days as of today while exercising their constitutional rights by unfurling an Osimhen banner, but whose names we, as an institution, could not even mention? I do not know what kind of scales of justice you have set up in your consciences, but in my eyes, both the budget you have prepared and you yourselves are null and void."
