In the Buca district of İzmir, a courier who was parking his motorcycle was subjected to a punch attack before he could understand what was happening. A criminal complaint was filed against the 47-year-old attacker, who stated in his police statement that he carried out the attack because he was annoyed with motorcycle couriers. The moments were captured on a security camera.

M.G. (36), who works as a motorcycle courier, parked his motorcycle near his workplace after delivering an order. At that moment, F.Ü. (47), who was walking with his wife, suddenly punched M.G. The stunned courier did not retaliate. The incident was captured by a nearby business's security camera.

After the incident, M.G. obtained a medical report for the assault and applied to the police station to file a complaint against the attacker. Judicial proceedings have been initiated against the attacker.

It was learned that the detained attacker said in his police statement, "I was annoyed with motorcycle couriers; I had been annoyed with 2 other motorcycle couriers before; I punched M.G. to take my anger out."

"We filed a complaint for the crime of intentional injury"

Ahmet Taha Ceylan, the lawyer for the assaulted courier M.G., announced that they had filed a criminal complaint against the attacker for the crime of intentional injury. Drawing attention to the recent increase in violent incidents against motorcycle couriers, Ceylan stated that his client was subjected to a punch attack while waiting for an order without having any argument. He stated that M.G. did not retaliate and filed a complaint after obtaining a medical report. Lawyer Ceylan said that the process would continue according to the Turkish Penal Code and that they would strive to ensure the suspect receives the punishment he deserves.

Making a statement on the subject, Lawyer Ahmet Taha Ceylan said, "The suspect stated in his statement to the police that he had been annoyed with two different motorcycle couriers before, and then when he saw our client, he directed his anger at him and punched him. In this case, there is no situation that would cause any crime or provocation on the part of our client; the crime is an act committed as a result of accumulated anger."
