Terrifying moments were experienced as the individual remained hanging from the window.
CAUGHT WHILE HANGING FROM THE WINDOW
New details have been reached regarding the incident. According to the information obtained, the individual hanging from the window was Melih Can A. (19), and it was learned that Melih Can A. was apprehended by police teams after a 16-year-old girl named M.İ.B. stated that she had been raped by him on Wednesday, December 20. It was learned that Melih Can A. was taken to the hospital to obtain a medical report, and while his handcuffs were removed to be left alone with the doctor for the report, he escaped, forced his way into a house located across from the hospital without permission, and was caught while hanging from the window as he tried to jump out of the apartment window following the intervention of the homeowners and the police.
The individual was assaulted by a citizen named H.D. (45) while he was trying to jump from the window. The person named H.D. was also taken to the police station by the police. During the interrogation of the individual named Melih Can A., it was determined that he had a criminal record of 42 counts for various offenses.
The individual named H.D. was released by judicial authorities after his procedures. Melih Can A. is expected to be referred to the courthouse today.
Hakan Demirci, who lives in the apartment the individual entered, said, "My wife called me in the evening yesterday. She told me there was a burglar in the house. I immediately ran and came. I went around the back and entered my house. The individual moved from my house to the neighbor's house and locked the door from the inside. The individual tried to jump from the window. The police officers held him by his feet and tried to pull him inside. We couldn't pull him up; if we had let go, he would have fallen headfirst. I also tried to hit his hands with a plastic object to save him. My efforts were in vain. He could have taken my child hostage, he could have taken my wife hostage. Then more terrible things would have happened."
"WE HELD HIM WHEN HE JUMPED FROM ABOVE"
Speaking after the incident, shopkeeper Caner Taşer said, "We were inside our shop when shouting sounds came. When we went outside, someone was hanging from the window. Two police officers were holding him from behind. Since the individual was holding onto the iron bars, he did not let go of the bars in any way. The police could not pull him up either. When the individual could not escape through the door, he tried to escape through the window. The individual said, 'I am not a burglar, film me.' We held him when the individual jumped from above. I hugged the individual's chest. We handed the individual over to the police teams."
On the other hand, Melih Can A., who remained hanging from the window while fleeing from the police, denied the 'rape' accusations against him in a video he published on social media. In the video, Melih Can A. said, "The incident is not as it appears. The police officers loosened my handcuffs themselves. The incident definitely has nothing to do with rape. The people who filed the complaint are my ex-girlfriend's family. The situation is very complicated. I gave my statement. The girl is not giving a statement; the girl's family is giving the statement. There is a very big misunderstanding. Our state and our justice system are great; I trust in justice."
