Staff from nearby residential complexes used sirens to warn vehicle owners, urging them to take precautions against the flood risk. Many citizens made efforts to save their vehicles before they were submerged.

The İzmir Metropolitan Municipality fire department continued water drainage operations and made intensive efforts to clear blocked channels. It was reported that the water level was continuously rising.

THEY TIED THEM TO A TREE

It was noted that some citizens had to take off their shoes to walk due to the rising water. Two motorcycle couriers, struggling to avoid being trapped in the water, were unsuccessful and ended up tying their motorcycles to a tree.

Under the influence of the strong wind, the Cemal Gürsel Coastal Road in Karşıyaka was completely submerged. Seawater reached many streets.

Fire department teams warned citizens to move their vehicles to a safe location.

In the Konak district, the Kordon waterfront was completely submerged, while many businesses and apartment buildings were left underwater. Gündoğdu and Cumhuriyet Squares were also submerged.

Kıbrıs Şehitleri and Talatpaşa Boulevards were also filled with seawater, and power outages occurred in the region.
