Hiding Narin took 38 minutes and 11 seconds: New footage in the murder case

The uncle Salim, mother Yüksel, and brother Enes Güran, along with their neighbor Nevzat Bahtiyar, are being tried with a request for aggravated life imprisonment for the crime of "intentional killing of a child in complicity" regarding the murder of Narin Güran, who went missing on August 21 in the Tavşantepe neighborhood of the central Bağlar district and whose lifeless body was found in the Eğertutmaz Stream on September 8.

The case file also includes footage of the defendant Nevzat Bahtiyar driving his vehicle on the day of the incident. In the footage recorded by a security camera belonging to a farm, it is seen that Nevzat Bahtiyar, who confessed to hiding Narin Güran's lifeless body, headed from the Tavşantepe neighborhood towards the Eğertutmaz Stream, where he hid the body, at around 15.42 on August 21.

The records show that Bahtiyar left the area with his vehicle about 40 minutes later and passed a point near the farmhouse at around 16.23.

It is seen that the defendant Bahtiyar was driving back towards the Tavşantepe neighborhood at around 16.45.

The indictment stated: "It was determined that a suspicious vehicle entered the camera angle of the farm located across from the Tavşantepe neighborhood at 15.41 on the day Narin went missing, and that this vehicle stopped on the dirt road near the Eğertutmaz Stream at around 15.44. It was determined that it left the vicinity of the Eğertutmaz Stream 38 minutes and 11 seconds later according to the camera time, and that the vehicle in question was red. Upon tracking the camera records, it was clearly determined that the vehicle was the one used by Nevzat Bahtiyar."

In his defense at the first hearing of the case held at the 8th High Criminal Court on November 7 regarding the murder of Narin Güran, the defendant Bahtiyar had stated, "After leaving the body in the stream, I went to my sister-in-law's house. She had made cheese for us, I picked it up and came home."

On the other hand, upon the request of the defense attorneys, the court issued an interim decision to request any records from the "Şahingöz" camera located at the Daran-2 Base Area between 15.00 and 17.00 on the day of the incident from the Bağlar District Gendarmerie Command.

Following this, the report prepared by the gendarmerie included the following statements:

"It has been determined by obtaining information from the technical personnel serving at the Diyarbakır Provincial Gendarmerie Command that the Gözcü-2 (Keskingöz) electro-optical sensor system available at the Daran-2 Base Area does not have a video recording feature and the device is not connected to any recording device, and that only live images can be viewed with the thermal camera in question."

A WHATSAPP GROUP WAS CREATED AFTER NARİN GÜRAN WENT MISSING

The case file also contains information that a WhatsApp group was created after Narin Güran went missing, and that some family members, including uncle Salim and brother Enes Güran, were in this group.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The lifeless body of Narin Güran, who went missing on August 21 in the Tavşantepe neighborhood of Diyarbakır's central Bağlar district, was found in the Eğertutmaz Stream on September 8.

Within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 12 people out of 23 suspects detained, including uncle Salim, mother Yüksel, brother Enes Güran, and their neighbor Nevzat Bahtiyar, were arrested.

The investigation into Salim, Yüksel, and Enes Güran, as well as Nevzat Bahtiyar, was completed, and the indictment prepared for the 4 defendants with a request for aggravated life imprisonment for the crime of "intentional killing of a child in complicity" was accepted by the Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court on October 23.

The trial of the defendants began on November 7, and the hearing, which lasted 3 days and resulted in the decision to continue the detention of the defendants, was adjourned to December 26.
