In a horrific incident that took place on the morning of Sunday, February 16, in Istanbul's Fatih district, 25-year-old Moroccan national Ilyas Belaiz was beaten by two people he had an argument with and thrown from a window, falling 10 meters to the ground. Belaiz, who was seriously injured, lost his life in the hospital despite all interventions.

The incident occurred around 07:00 in the morning in Fatih, Aksaray. According to allegations, Moroccan national Ilyas Belaiz had recently arrived in Istanbul with his cousin W.S. to look for a place to stay. For this purpose, W.S. contacted M.D. and S.S., who took Belaiz and his cousin to a house in Aksaray. Inside the house, M.D., S.S., and W.S. began using drugs. However, an argument that broke out for unknown reasons escalated quickly, and Belaiz was beaten and thrown out of the window.

Belaiz, who hit the ground after a 10-meter fall, was seriously injured. Upon notification by witnesses, police teams arrived at the scene quickly. During the investigations, the suspects were identified through security camera footage. His cousin W.S., along with M.D. and S.S., were apprehended and taken into custody shortly after. The three individuals, whose procedures at the police station were completed, were arrested by the judicial authorities and sent to prison.

Meanwhile, the moment Belaiz fell from the window was captured on security cameras. While the investigation into the incident continues, criminal proceedings against the suspects who caused Belaiz's death are ongoing.

THEY THREW HIM AND FLED

Fettah Karakurt, who owns a business near the building where the incident occurred, said, "The incident happened early in the morning. When I came to open my shop, I heard that they had thrown a man down from above. This building had already been vacated. People who engage in prostitution here might have also been using drugs. They threw a person, whom we knew to be a foreign national, down from the third floor. A group of 4-5 people fled. I have no other information beyond that. The person who lost his life had been seen around here before. They were walking around here with a few women. I have information about him. But what kind of hostility was between them, or was it a suicide? Or did they really throw him down from above? I have no information about that. But there were people who fled after he fell."
