Horrific incident in mosque: Attacked a child with scissors!

A suspect who wounded a 16-year-old child with scissors in a mosque in Istanbul's Başakşehir district has been apprehended by police. The moment of the incident was captured on security cameras.

In the incident that occurred on February 10 at approximately 15:30 at a mosque in the Güvercintepe neighborhood of Başakşehir, an individual identified as M.H. (35) began wounding a 16-year-old child named F.E.A. on the forehead and arm with scissors inside the mosque.

Upon hearing the child's cries for help, police teams in the vicinity arrived at the mosque and caught the suspect in the act.

Medical teams dispatched to the scene upon notification transported the wounded child to the hospital.

It was reported that F.E.A. is not in life-threatening condition.

The apprehended suspect was referred to the courthouse on charges of "attempted intentional homicide." Security camera footage of the incident recorded the events second by second.

Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the police, it was learned that the suspect, while sleeping in the mosque, became concerned that he was going to be attacked after F.E.A. approached him to offer help, and therefore carried out the attack.
