It has been revealed that hotel staff who saw the fire in Kartalkaya, where 78 people lost their lives in Bolu, rushed to the indoor parking lot to save cars instead of warning the guests.

Striking footage has emerged as part of the investigation into the fire at the Grand Kartal Hotel in Bolu Kartalkaya, which claimed the lives of 78 people. Security camera footage shows that when the hotel staff noticed the fire, instead of warning the guests, they went down to the indoor parking lot and spent about 1 hour trying to save vehicles.
New footage has emerged as part of the investigation into the fire that broke out on the night of January 21 at the Grand Kartal Hotel, located in the Kartalkaya center of Bolu, where 78 people lost their lives.
THEY SPENT AN HOUR TRYING TO SAVE VEHICLES
In the footage reflected on the security camera, it was seen that in the minutes when the fire started, the hotel staff headed to their vehicles instead of evacuating the customers and spent a long time in the parking lot. The individuals who tried to save the vehicles for about 1 hour were captured second by second on security cameras.
In the investigation launched by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the fire tragedy, 41 people have been detained so far. 28 of the detained suspects were arrested. While 9 people were later released, the detention of 19 people continues, including hotel owner Halit Ergül, his wife and board member Emine Murtezaoğlu Ergül, their daughters Elif Aras and Ceyda Hacıbekiroğlu, the hotel's general manager and son-in-law Emir Aras, Provincial Special Administration Secretary General Sırrı Köstereli, Bolu Fire Department Chief Kenan Coşkun, and Bolu Deputy Mayor Sedat Gülener.
