AKP member Hüseyin Yayman, who participated in the meeting with terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan at İmralı, left journalists' questions unanswered before a briefing meeting with his party's commission members. When asked by reporters, "Will you be briefing the members?", Yayman replied, "Friends, we are not making impromptu statements. There is no statement regarding this matter, I will only say this much. Thank you for your courtesy."

NO RESPONSE TO QUESTIONS

To a journalist's question, "There will be a briefing meeting, right?", Yayman stated, "We are going to work on our report now." However, tense moments occurred when questions regarding the İmralı visit were raised. Yayman stated, "We are not making statements about that right now, friends. I specifically said that I stopped out of courtesy because you were here."

When journalists persistently asked, "Will you be making a presentation to the commission members?", he left the questions unanswered, replying, "I am saying it again, I stopped so as not to be impolite to you. We are not making a statement, thank you."

BRIEFING MEETING HELD

The delegation's visit took place within the framework of the work of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission established in Parliament as part of the process initiated by MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli. A three-person delegation consisting of AKP, MHP, and DEM Party groups serving on the commission completed their visit to İmralı the other day. It was learned that Yayman held a briefing meeting with his party's commission members following the visit.

CONTRADICTORY STATEMENTS DRAW ATTENTION

Hüseyin Yayman has come to the fore with contradictory statements he made before and during the İmralı visit. Speaking to İlke TV after a post made by delegation member Feti Yıldız before the visit, Yayman had stated that the meeting had not yet taken place and would occur in the coming days. However, in the following hours, it was determined that the delegation was already at İmralı. With the official statement made by Parliament, it was confirmed that Yayman was part of the visiting delegation.

POSITIVE ASSESSMENT FROM THE TBMM

In a written statement issued by the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) following the Imrali meeting, it was shared that the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission has met 18 times to date. Regarding the outcome of the meeting, the statement included the following: "Positive results have been achieved in terms of social integration, the strengthening of brotherhood, and the positive advancement of the process regarding the regional perspective. The commission will maintain its determined and resolute stance toward achieving its goals in the coming period."
