IETT bus and garbage truck collide in Sarıyer! 2 workers seriously injured
In Sarıyer, an IETT bus that slowed down for a passenger trying to catch the vehicle after picking up passengers at a stop was struck from behind by a garbage truck. In the tragic accident, 3 workers in the garbage truck were injured, 2 of them seriously, and the street was closed to traffic in one direction.

According to the information obtained, the accident occurred around 08:00 on Sarıyer Adnan Kahveci Street. The IETT bus with license plate 34 TP 5607, driven by Necdet Karadağ, had picked up passengers from the Dedeman bus stop and was moving. The IETT bus slowed down for a passenger trying to catch the vehicle. At that moment, the garbage truck with license plate 61 K 12525, belonging to Sarıyer Municipality and driven by Selim Sırrı Tüfekçi, collided with the IETT bus, which had passengers inside. Due to the impact of the collision, the IETT bus swerved. The passengers inside the bus experienced great panic.
3 PEOPLE INJURED IN THE ACCIDENT, 2 SERIOUSLY
Barkın Temetaş and Metin Oktay Kıraç, who were in the garbage truck, were trapped in the vehicle. Upon notification, ambulance and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the scene. The fire brigade team that arrived at the scene rescued the two people trapped in the vehicle after intense efforts. It was learned that Barkın Temetaş and Metin Oktay Kıraç were seriously injured, while the driver, Tüfekçi, was slightly injured. The 3 injured, 2 of whom were in serious condition, were taken to the hospital after the initial intervention at the scene. The street where the accident occurred was closed to traffic in one direction. The street was reopened to traffic after the vehicles involved in the accident were removed from the scene. On the other hand, it was observed that the damaged part of the IETT bus involved in the accident was covered with packing tape.
