Jewelry store robbery in Safranbolu caught on camera: They escaped with 20 kilos of gold! Special operations forces deployed
Efforts are underway to capture 3 suspects who neutralized 3 people at a jewelry store in the Safranbolu district of Karabük and stole approximately 20 kilos of gold while wearing ski masks and carrying weapons. Karabük Governor Mustafa Yavuz announced that two bags filled during the robbery were recovered by security forces. A robbery that could rival a movie scene took place at a jewelry store in Safranbolu, Karabük.
The thieves, who entered the jewelry store wearing ski masks and carrying weapons, stole exactly 20 kilos of gold after neutralizing 3 people.
Karabük Governor Mustafa Yavuz made statements regarding the armed robbery. Governor Yavuz, who received information about the incident on Sadri Artunç Street, stated that the event occurred at a jewelry store around 18:00 in the evening. Yavuz said, "Today, towards 18:00, a robbery was carried out by three masked and armed individuals at a jewelry store in our Safranbolu district. First of all, let me say this: Our greatest consolation and greatest joy is that no harm came to any of our citizens. Our greatest relief is that none of our employees at the workplace, our citizens, or our tradespeople were harmed."
"SPECIAL OPERATIONS POLICE DISPATCHED TO THE REGION"
Governor Yavuz stated that search and sweep operations are continuing in the area where the individuals fled, and said the following:
"Three masked and armed individuals entered our jewelry store. After forcing our three employees to the ground and neutralizing them, they filled bags they had brought with them with some of the jewelry in the store. While they were trying to escape, following the pursuit of the masked and armed individuals by both our security forces and our citizens, two bags containing the gold and jewelry they had stolen were recovered by our security forces in the area where they fled.
We assess that they had three weapons in their possession. Two of these three weapons are now in the hands of our security forces. We are currently narrowing the area by closing off all routes they might escape through, including village roads and main roads, with all our strength from both our police department and our gendarmerie in the direction they fled. Our special operations police are also arriving. The geography is a canyon region. It is a region with some caves, green valleys, and water.
Special operations will conduct the necessary search and sweep operations there. Hopefully, we will capture these individuals in a short time and deliver them to justice. I say get well soon once again. I truly thank the people of Safranbolu and our tradespeople for their sensitivity. Because yes, while our friends and security forces were pursuing these individuals and working to capture them, our people in Safranbolu, our citizens, and our tradespeople were very helpful to us.
