Market robber caught

Eren T., who neutralized a cashier with a gun at a market he entered in Pendik, was taken into custody by teams from the Public Security Branch Office's Robbery Bureau. A robber who entered a market in Pendik's Doğu neighborhood stole 4,500 TL from the register at gunpoint and fled the scene. Upon notification, teams from the Public Security Branch Office's Robbery Bureau and the Pendik District Police Department were dispatched to the scene. The market's 18-year-old cashier, T.D., stated, "While I was at the register, a male individual wearing a black hoodie, black hat, and black mask, carrying a bag, asked for 5 packs of cigarettes. As I was handing him the cigarettes, he pulled a pistol from his waistband and fired one shot into the air. Then he told me to empty the register. Upon this, I gave him the 4,500 TL that was in the register. The individual, having taken the cigarettes and the money, then fled on foot."

2 PISTOLS SEIZED

Examining the market's security camera footage, teams from the Public Security Branch Office's Robbery Bureau observed that the robber had waited outside for a while and then entered the market after walking around a bit. Having identified the individual's image, the teams also examined security camera footage in the direction the cashier said he had fled. As a result of the investigations, it was determined that the robber was 34-year-old Eren T., who had a prior police record.

Police conducted an operation on the robber's home and took Eren T. into custody. Eren T., from whom 2 pistols and ammunition belonging to the pistols were seized, was referred to the Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office following his interrogation at the Public Security Branch Office's Robbery Bureau. After his statement to the prosecutor, Eren T. was referred to court, arrested, and sent to prison.
