Fernas miners who began a hunger strike at Kurtuluş Park have been detained.
In a post shared on the Independent Mining Workers' Union's social media account, the following statements were made regarding the detention:
We are being detained!
As our 2nd day of hunger strike was ending, we were subjected to a police attack. We wanted to go to the ministries and the Parliament, you did not allow it; we wanted to go in front of Fernas, you did not allow it. Now, we are not even allowed to sit.
Should we just die in silence?
Witness the powerful connections of AKP Batman MP Ferhat Nasıroğlu! All these connections are working day and night so that the 301s die in silence.
All miners on hunger strike at Kurtuluş Park and our union officials have been detained.
We came from underground in Soma; we are not afraid of anyone. We call on everyone to raise their voices wherever they are.
