When the appointment of a trustee to the Şişli Municipality was brought to the agenda, an outburst came from the AKP group saying, "Discuss Şişli in Şişli." Following these words, IMM Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan took the podium and reacted sharply to the AKP council members.
Expressing his reaction by saying, "Who said 'Discuss Şişli in Şişli'? Do you have the courage? Are you willing to convene the assembly and hold an election? Are you willing to withdraw the trustee? Are you willing to stand on the side of the law? If you are not, then do not speak," Aslan's words caused a brief moment of tension in the assembly.
