Murat Çalık's mother cries out in tears! 'I don't want my son to slip through my fingers'
Gülümser Çalık, the mother of imprisoned Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık, cried out in tears. Addressing state officials, mother Çalık said, I am helpless. I don't want to relive '99. I don't want my son to slip through my fingers. I am asking for mercy from the Minister of Justice, the judges, and the prosecutors. Let them hear my cry. I cannot bear to see my son wasting away day by day. Murat Çalık's sister, Yeşim Koçhan, collapsed during the live broadcast, saying, We want justice.

Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık, who was arrested and sent to prison as part of an investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into corruption allegations against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB), was transferred from Silivri Prison to Izmir on June 4.
The Council of Forensic Medicine has decided that tests should be repeated for Çalık, who previously overcame cancer twice but has lost 21 kilograms in prison.
Footage of Çalık, who was transferred to Izmir City Hospital, waving to his mother, Gülümser Çalık, who was waiting in the hospital courtyard from the prisoners' ward, has become a major topic of discussion.
Mother Çalık cried out during a live broadcast on Sözcü TV today.
Speaking through tears, mother Çalık said the following:
“I am helpless. I don't want to relive '99. (Note: Çalık was diagnosed with acute leukemia in 1999 and underwent treatment for one year). I don't want my son to slip through my fingers.
I am asking for mercy from the Minister of Justice, the judges, and the prosecutors. Let them hear my cry. I cannot bear to see my son wasting away day by day. I am a mother, my son is sick, please hear my cry. I have no strength left, I am about to lose my mind.
‘THOSE TESTS ARE VERY DIFFICULT, I DON'T WANT THEM DONE AGAIN’
Those tests are very difficult, I don't want them done again. If he has committed a crime, let them investigate and look into it. I want my son by my side. My request to all my state leaders is that they understand me.
We followed his car, and a soldier wanted to move me away. I cried out; I said, ‘He is my son.’ My son is very miserable; he became even more upset yesterday when he saw that I had seen him. What more can I say, let them hear my cry. I am calling out to my state leaders: Hear my cry.”
SISTER COLLAPSED: ‘HE IS NOT WELL’
During the broadcast, Çalık's sister, Yeşim Koçhan, collapsed, saying, “He is not well. We want justice.”
