Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov, and Tajik Defense Minister Sherali Mirzo attended the "Distinguished Observer Day" of the exercise, which was conducted to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey.
The tasks performed during the "Distinguished Observer Day," held at a military training ground near Baku, were reminiscent of real combat scenes.
The exercise began with Turkish and Azerbaijani commando units capturing the positions of the simulated enemy on the contact line.
In the exercise, where the simulated enemy's air defense units were neutralized, Turkish F-16s destroyed enemy targets.
In the exercise, where tank units launched an attack on enemy positions following fire from missile and artillery units, Bayraktar TB2 UCAVs destroyed the simulated enemy's "Iskander" and "Tochka-U" missile systems with precision strikes.
In the exercise, where units launched an attack with armored vehicles, Turkish and Azerbaijani special forces conducted an airborne operation behind the simulated enemy lines and captured high-ranking commanders.
The exercise, which is being held in Baku as well as in Nakhchivan and the liberated territories, involves 3 thousand personnel, 130 tanks and armored vehicles, approximately 100 artillery and missile systems, and about 20 aircraft and helicopters.
The "Mustafa Kemal Atatürk 2023" exercise, which aims to increase interaction and coordination between the Turkish and Azerbaijani armies, will conclude tomorrow.
