New footage of the February 6 earthquake emerges

New footage of the February 6 earthquake centered in Kahramanmaraş has emerged. The images, recorded from various points in the city, reveal the scale of the disaster.

11 provinces were affected by the February 6 earthquakes that occurred in Kahramanmaraş. According to official figures, 53 thousand 537 people lost their lives and approximately 100 thousand people were injured in the earthquakes.

Hundreds of thousands of homes and workplaces were damaged in the disaster. On the anniversary of the earthquake, new footage showing the city shaking like a cradle has emerged. When the clock struck 04:17, security and KGYS cameras at the Muftuluk Square, the historic Kahramanmaraş Castle, the Governor's Office Square, Trabzon Street, and the Namık Kemal Intersection recorded the disaster as it unfolded. In the districts of Pazarcık and Elbistan, the epicenters of the two major earthquakes, security cameras captured the magnitude of the tremors moment by moment.

The footage shows the tremors beginning and intensifying, and buildings collapsing.

While the moments of destruction of many buildings were reflected on camera, clouds of dust spread around. In the continuation of the footage, it was seen that citizens took to the streets in chaos after the impact of the earthquake subsided.
