Footage recorded by a nearby security camera overlooking the Grand Kartal Hotel at the Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Center has been obtained, showing the first moments of the fire and the subsequent 2.5 hours.
The recording, which contains footage of the Grand Kartal Hotel where 78 people lost their lives, covers the events that occurred between 03:30 and 06:00 on January 21, the day the fire broke out.
Shortly after 03:30, when the footage begins, flames on the rear facade of the hotel facing the valley can be seen illuminating the night, and activity is also visible at the front of the hotel.
In the fire, where teams began intervention around 04:20, the security camera recording shows that as it approached 04:30, the rear facade was covered in flames, and the rising fire began to spread to the upper floors.
In the recording, where pieces can be seen falling from the hotel's exterior, it is also shown that teams began evacuations from the rooms on the front facade using ladders around 04:40.
As the camera recording shows the time around 05:00, it is understood that the roof and a large part of the side facade were burning, that intense flames covered the hotel until 05:15, and that the flames intensified on the front facade of the hotel around 05:40.
