The rising tension between Israel and Iran has also spilled over into prisons. Following the missile attacks launched by Iran against Israel, Israeli authorities took action on the grounds that some Palestinian prisoners responded to the attacks with celebrations.
The Israel Prison Service has launched an operation targeting prisoners identified as having "engaged in celebrations" in high-security prisons across the country.
According to reports in the Israeli press, prisoner wards were raided during operations that were particularly concentrated in the Gilboa, Nafha, and Ramon prisons. It was reported that some Palestinian detainees were subjected to physical intervention, their personal belongings were damaged, and a large number of prisoners were transferred to other facilities.
