It has been reported that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel has demanded the resignation of Şişli Municipal Council member Yusuf Özcan, following the emergence of footage showing him assaulting a woman.

As soon as footage showing Istanbul Şişli Municipal Council member Yusuf Özcan assaulting a woman became public, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel called Şişli Mayor Emrah Şahan and Şişli District Chairman Tamer Özcanlı, instructing them to secure Özcan's resignation.
It was noted that if Özcan does not resign, disciplinary proceedings will be initiated against him immediately.
