The house arrest of journalist and host of the Para Politika program aired on Sözcü TV, Özlem Gürses, has been lifted. Gürses, who was detained and placed under house arrest due to statements she made on her YouTube channel, regained her freedom after 52 days.

'FREEDOM IS TRULY BEAUTIFUL'

The moment her electronic tag was removed was shared with viewers just before the Para Politika program. Returning to the studio, Gürses experienced the excitement of stepping outside for the first time in a long while. After regaining her freedom, she said, "I am going outside for the first time in 52 days; freedom is truly beautiful."

Experiencing emotional moments during the program, Gürses could not hold back her tears during her first broadcast back on screen. In her statement during the live broadcast, she said, "Time that is said to not pass, passes; problems that are said to be unsolvable, are solved. Please forgive my excitement. I am back in my studio, back at my job, I am at Sözcü TV. For the first time in 52 days, I went out on the street and came to work."

Thanking those who supported her during the process she went through, Gürses said, "I am grateful to the Sözcü TV management, the news center, my friends, my colleagues who did not leave me alone for even a second, the technical team and editors who tolerated me with their patience, the guests who joined my broadcasts, and my viewers."

Gürses, who continued her broadcasts from her home due to the house arrest decision, returned to the Sözcü TV studio after regaining her freedom and continued to host her program from where she left off.
