'Pallada' ship crew's distress call caught on camera

The distress call of the crew of the Cameroon-flagged dry cargo ship named Pallada, which ran aground during a severe storm in the morning, was recorded by a crew member's mobile phone camera.
The Cameroon-flagged cargo ship that ran aground in the Ereğli district of Zonguldak split in two due to large waves. The ship washed ashore in 2 pieces.
The 13 crew members on board were safely evacuated from the ship by AFAD, Coast Guard, and fire department teams.
"THE SHIP HAS SPLIT IN TWO"
The footage shows the moments when the ship's personnel contacted the Coast Guard to request assistance. The footage captures the crew member saying, "The ship has split in two," and sharing the ship's coordinates while calling for help.
Following the incident, the 13 personnel on board were evacuated from the grounded ship using ropes. Those moments were also captured second by second on the ship personnel's camera.
