Parliament podium opened to the voices of children on April 23
The podium was turned over to children during the April 23 special session at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). A speech by a young girl, concluding with a call for science, art, and production, received a standing ovation from the hall.

On the occasion of April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day, the traditional "Children's Special Session" was held at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Following the opening speech by TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, the management was handed over to the child president and clerk members. This time, the General Assembly listened to the voices of children.
"WE WANT TO CHANGE THE WORLD"
Speaking at the session, a young girl emphasized that opportunities for science, art, and sports in education should be increased, stating, "Children growing up with science, art, and sports will build the bright future of this country. But for this, we must be provided with more science workshops, art spaces, and sports facilities. Because we do not just want to learn what is written in books; we want to touch life, produce, and change the world. Today, as a child, I can make my voice heard in Parliament. This is the work of the Republic bequeathed to us by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk! Therefore, let us work together to further elevate this legacy."
SHE READ ATATÜRK'S WORDS, A STORM OF APPLAUSE ERUPTED
Concluding her speech by reading the words "Sovereignty belongs unconditionally to the nation" inscribed on the wall of the Parliament, the young representative received a great round of applause from the hall. This meaningful speech once again reminded everyone of the spirit of this special day gifted to children by the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
