Passengers left behind a total of 9 thousand items in 2023
Of the 9 thousand items left behind by passengers on Havaist buses, which provide transportation services to Istanbul Airport, 8 thousand 337 were returned to their owners in 2023.

Istanbul Airport's transportation service provider Havaist reported that 8 thousand 337 out of the 9 thousand items left behind on its buses last year were returned to their owners.
Authorized by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and the Istanbul Airport operator IGA, Havaist transports passengers to the airport from 51 different locations across the city via 11 lines. With the update made in 2023, these three names, who share the top spot on the list of the most valuable football players, drew attention with a value of 180 million euros.
Items left behind by passengers using Havaist buses are delivered to the Havaist Lost and Found Office. Supervisor Davut Tuğlu provided information about the efforts made in this regard and the items returned. Stating that a total of 9 thousand items were recorded throughout the year, Tuğlu noted that 93 percent of these were delivered to their owners.
Tuğlu said, "Suitcases, electronic devices, wallets, phones, and clothing are the most frequently forgotten items. It must be the effect of air travel; items are left behind more often when traveling from the airport to the city." Havaist has established a special warehouse and service unit to ensure found items reach their owners.
There are also interesting memories among the lost items. Tuğlu mentioned that a couple once forgot their child on the bus, explaining, "I suppose they fell asleep, and the child fell asleep too. Later, when we contacted the family, they said they had left the child with the grandmother and had planned it that way. I guess it remained in their subconscious. Because they were asleep, they forgot the child. Our captains perform vehicle inspections at the end of their shifts. That is when they found the child."
