Destici answered questions on the program 'Haftanın Karnesi' (Report Card of the Week), which aired on KRT the other day.
During the program, where many current issues were discussed, the sword oath taken by lieutenants at the Military Academy graduation ceremony was also addressed.
At that moment, host Sinan Onuş asked Destici, "Well, are you a soldier of Mustafa Kemal?"
"A SOLDIER OF THE MUSLIM TURKISH NATION"
Stating that this was not a correct question, Destici said, "This is not a correct question. First of all, Mustafa Kemal Pasha, Atatürk, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Khan, Alparslan; sir, all the commanders in our history, whose soldiers are we all? We are soldiers of the Muslim Turkish nation. We are soldiers of the Ottoman Empire for a period, the Seljuks before that, and if you go further back, the Huns, the Göktürks, and the Uyghurs."
"MUSTAFA KEMAL PASHA WAS ALSO AN OTTOMAN PASHA"
Continuing his remarks on the subject, Destici noted that Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was also an Ottoman Pasha.
Destici continued his words as follows:
"Mustafa Kemal Pasha was also an Ottoman pasha during the Ottoman era. Or rather, he was its soldier. He was also a pasha and soldier of the Republic of Turkey state. I am a soldier of the Muslim Republic of Turkey state and the Turkish nation. Just like all members of the Turkish Armed Forces. Just like every individual of the Turkish nation. We are all soldiers of the Republic of Turkey state and the noble and distinguished Turkish nation."
