In an accident at a construction site in Kağıthane, a piling machine weighing approximately 200 tons lost control after a rope snapped, sliding downhill and crashing into 3 parked vehicles. While 2 people were injured in the incident, the moment of the accident was recorded second by second by citizens in the vicinity.
The incident occurred on Thursday around 15:30 on Yayla Street in the Çağlayan neighborhood of Kağıthane, when construction workers attempted to pull the piling machine into the site with the help of an excavator. One end of the rope was attached to the excavator and the other to the piling machine. As the excavator began to move, the rope suddenly snapped, causing the machine to lose control. The machine, which began to slide downhill, was only able to stop after hitting 3 parked vehicles.
Mechanic Erdoğan Önder (44) and student S.G. (15) were injured in the accident. It was learned that the injured, who were taken to the hospital by medical teams, are not in life-threatening condition. Regarding the incident, the operator of the piling machine, Abdülcelil Bakış (46), was taken to the police station to provide a statement.
