Alarko Holding Chairman of the Board İzzet Garih filed a criminal complaint against Ahmet Furkan B., alleging that on January 19, 2025, the suspect sent him a message on social media threatening him with death by saying, 'I will set the whole world on fire with you,' and attempted to enter the holding building illegally.
The criminal complaint submitted to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office stated that five days after this message, Ahmet Furkan B. attempted to enter the building housing Alarko Holding in Beşiktaş, which belongs to Garih, through illegal means, noting: "Ahmet Furkan B. attempted to enter the building rapidly with his car without allowing security guards to intervene. Ahmet Furkan B., who was forced to stop after hitting the bollards at the entrance of the holding, told the security guards who approached him that he wanted to meet with İzzet Garih. When this request was rejected by the guards, he became angry and made threatening statements, saying, 'İzzet Garih will come here. If you don't let me in, I will burn both İzzet Garih and you.'"
According to the petition, Ahmet Furkan B. was taken into custody after police arrived at the scene, and in his statement, he claimed that he thought he was İzzet Garih's brother. Ahmet Furkan B., who was released under judicial control, did not cease his harassment and attacks. The petition further stated: "It is a fact proven by our experience that our client can become a target for criminals. Our client's father, Üzeyir Garih, was also assassinated and killed on August 25, 2001, in a similar manner for reasons that remain unclear. This similarity, combined with Ahmet Furkan B.'s contradictory statements, has brought our client's fear of being killed to the highest level. We want to prevent more dire consequences for our client, who is a victim of one-sided persistent stalking and has been threatened with death. We request that a lawsuit be filed against the suspect and that he be punished."
