The verdict has been announced in the Sinan Ateş murder trial, which has been on Turkey's agenda for over two years.
Following the verdict, attacks on Sinan Ateş's mother, Saniye Ateş, and his sister, Selma Ateş, also became a major topic of discussion.
Appearing before the cameras, mother Saniye Ateş used very harsh language toward Devlet Bahçeli in a speech she concluded by saying, "I cannot speak."
"I am here, I have one life, I am 70 years old, I have no fear. May God not take the life of that Devlet Bahçeli. The Ülkü Ocakları is still attacking my children. What did I do, what did my son do to him? What did he do other than serve? What did he do other than say 'as you command'?"
