An investigation has been launched into LeMan magazine on charges of "publicly insulting religious values" regarding a cartoon that led to interpretations depicting the Prophet Muhammad in the skies over a bombed city.
The cartoonist D.P., the graphic designer C.O., and the Editor-in-Chief Z.A. have been taken into custody.
The cartoon in question was met with backlash on social media.
A group protesting the magazine gathered in front of the magazine's building in Beyoğlu.
The gathered crowd chanted slogans such as 'A thousand greetings to Allah, the Quran, and the Prophet Muhammad' and recited the takbir.
Police teams took security measures in front of the building.
