The first session of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Assembly for November is taking place in Saraçhane under the chairmanship of the 1st Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Nuri Aslan.

The fact that the session, which began with questions from AKP assembly members, lasted longer than the speeches outside the agenda caused reactions.

In response to Nuri Aslan's criticism regarding the length of the questions, AKP Group Deputy Chairman Zeynel Abidin Okul reacted by saying, "Take off your Republican People's Party shirt."

Taking the floor, IMM Assembly CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ülkü Sakalar read Article 12 of the Municipal Working Regulations and stated that AKP members should act in accordance with the regulations. Upon this, while AKP assembly members reacted to Sakalar, the verbal argument between AKP and CHP members turned into a scuffle. Water bottles, notebooks, and files were thrown through the air during the altercation.

The session was adjourned for 15 minutes. The AKP and CHP gathered their respective groups and held meetings.

After a break that lasted approximately 1 hour, the speeches outside the agenda are continuing.
