The AKP's legislative proposal, which paves the way for mining in olive grove areas, was discussed in the TBMM Industry Commission. While some deputies were not allowed into the discussions, environmental advocates who could not enter the TBMM and citizens who wanted to reach the commission hall faced security barriers.

Members of the National Olive Council were not even allowed near the hall door. In the ensuing scuffle, some citizens were injured as a result of physical intervention.

Following the exclusion of producers from the Parliamentary Commission hall and their victimization, CHP Ankara Deputy Umut Akdoğan hosted the producers in Parliament.
