The Güran family is in high spirits! Video call footage of Narin’s brother Enes Güran from prison has emerged

The investigation into the murder of Narin Güran, who was reported missing on August 21 in the Tavşantepe neighborhood of Diyarbakır’s Bağlar district and whose lifeless body was found 19 days later, is ongoing.

The murder case, in which 12 people, including Narin’s mother, brother, and uncle, are currently in custody, has not yet been solved.

FIRST HEARING ON NOVEMBER 7

The first hearing regarding the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran will be held on November 7 at the 8th High Criminal Court. Footage has emerged showing Enes Güran, the brother who was arrested on charges of complicity in the intentional killing of his sister, frequently making video calls to his family from the T-Type High-Security Closed Penal Institution where he is being held. 

According to a report by Sözcü, while Enes Güran mostly speaks with his brother Baran, he also talks to his father, aunt, and uncles, and the fact that they are frequently seen laughing and having fun in the footage has drawn attention. 

FATHER ARİF JOKES: GET A FISHING ROD AND GO FISHING

Speaking to his father from a single-person visitation booth, Enes says, "The lawyer asks me, 'What are you doing in there?'" His father, Arif Güran, laughs mockingly and says, "Get a fishing rod and catch some fish for yourselves." Enes joins in the laughter, saying, "There are no fish, Dad, there's just the ventilation." At this point, his brother Baran enters the frame and says, "Don't be sad. You will all get out, just enjoy yourselves. Pray a lot, say your prayers. You'll be out by the first or second hearing. You just need to be a little patient." Then, his grandmother appears in the frame and says in Kurdish, "My dear, you are being held for no reason, without any guilt. Hopefully, you will all be out by the first hearing," which also drew attention. 

"I CAN'T STAND BEING BETWEEN FOUR WALLS"

In another video, while talking to his brother Baran, Enes cries bitterly and states that he is in prison for no reason, saying, "I am between 4 walls. Brother, I can't stand it here. I miss you all so much. Everyone has slandered me. I am here for nothing; with God's permission, our heads are held high; our consciences are clear." 

"WE HIRED 13 LAWYERS FOR YOU, YOU'LL BE OUT IN LESS THAN 6 MONTHS"

His brother Baran says, "Don't cry, Enes. Look, everyone is between 4 walls, but who is acting like you? We are calling the others, they are all laughing, and you are crying. We hired 13 lawyers for you. I will get you out, I have infinite faith in you. You are a suspect because you were at home that day. You are not being held as a convict. What should we do, go and kill Nevzat’s whole family? Is that what you want? Be patient, you are innocent, you will get out. We are sure you are innocent, say your prayers, do your worship, there is nothing I can do. If I could, I would tear that prison down and get you out of there. Look, even our mother calls once a week. You call constantly and cry to us. It won't be long now. Tell everything you know clearly, but don't cry. Look, this crying Enes is not the real Enes, keep that in mind. Let me talk to the lawyer now so he can come to you.  Your arrest was due to social media pressure. They can't keep you for more than 6 months anyway, 1 month has already passed. 5 months left," he says.

"YOU ARE A MAN, DON'T BE SAD, AT LEAST YOU'LL HAVE A STORY TO TELL WHEN YOU GET OUT"

Enes cries again and asks, "Brother, I swear they are coming for nothing, they came and took the carpets from the house, is that right? Are they saying anything about these cameras? They say there are two other people with Nevzat, are their faces visible?" This time, his father Arif enters the frame and tries to console him, saying, "Let them take them, son. Be patient, stand tall, keep yourself strong. Patience is the key to relief, these bad days will pass. God is great, son. Whatever hardship you face, keep Narin in front of your eyes. Whatever the state is doing, it is doing it for us. The footage has gone to TÜBİTAK, let's see." Meanwhile, his aunt enters the frame and says to Enes with a laugh, "You are a man, don't be sad. When you get out, at least you'll have an adventure to tell. Your aunt would sacrifice herself for you," after which they laugh together with Enes.

"HE ASKS WHO BRUISED YOUR EYE AND WHO SCRATCHED YOUR BACK"

In another video, his brother Baran asks Enes, "Why did you beat yourself up? Why did you bruise your eye?" Enes replies, "How could I not beat myself up? My sister was missing. I was in the cornfield. My eye was red, and when I hit it, it bruised." When his brother asks, "Then who scratched your back?" and he replies, "No one scratched it, I passed through thorny places and houses, that's how it got scratched," his brother says, "Okay, no one suspects you. We are saying let the truth come out. Don't you want the killers to be found too?" Enes then asks his brother, "I kissed Narin on the day she went missing, will anything come of that?" When his brother Baran replies, "No, what would happen? I kissed her too," Enes asks, "Will they let me go?"

"DAD, YOU DIDN'T HIRE A LAWYER BECAUSE YOU TRUST ME, RIGHT?"

In another video, Enes says to his father, "You didn't hire a lawyer for me because you trust me, right? Because when my brother-in-law had a lawyer come while he was in custody, and no one came for me, I thought my father didn't hire a lawyer because he trusts me. One goes crazy in here, Dad." His father Arif replies, "Why are you going crazy? There are 12 people like you there. Everything will come to light, don't worry. Keep your morale up so that I can be well too."

"DO NOT GIVE CONTRADICTORY STATEMENTS, SPEAK CLEARLY"

In another conversation his brother Baran has with Enes, he says, "Do not give contradictory statements, speak clearly. We didn't hire a lawyer for you because we are sure of you." Enes then asks, "Narin used my toothbrush. Will anything happen?" His brother tries to console him by saying, "No, nothing will come of that. Are you suspecting yourself? Don't be afraid. Look, your brother is outside, don't worry, I am taking care of you all."

"MY PSYCHOLOGY IS RUINED, I CAN'T SLEEP AT NIGHTS HERE"

Meanwhile, Enes cries again and says, "They broke my tooth with pliers, my psychology is ruined. Brother, I can't sleep at night. You can't sleep here. You say it won't be long, the lawyers come but don't say anything. Just let me get out, I know what I'll do to that Nevzo (referring to Nevzat Bahtiyar). That JASAT or whatever it is, it's driving me crazy. The questions they asked me weren't asked to the others, I can't sleep at night. The lawyers don't know anything either, they come, talk, and leave. The photos they show me keep coming to my mind. I close my eyes, and they appear before me. I can't stay calm, I'm going to lose my mind here," he says while crying. 

"YOU ARE THERE BECAUSE OF YOUR OWN STUPIDITY"

His brother Baran says, "Do you know why you are there? Because of your own stupidity. If you hadn't bitten yourself, if you hadn't beaten yourself, you wouldn't have been arrested today. The reason for your arrest is the bite mark on your arm. Why did you beat yourself?" Enes says, "What was I supposed to do, kill myself, brother?" His brother then tries to calm him down by saying, "That is the reason you are there."
