In Silopi, Şırnak, an individual identified as 34-year-old drug addict I.B. attempted to tear the Quran. An angry crowd gathered in front of the District Governorate building and attempted to lynch the individual while chanting 'Allahu Akbar.' Appearing before a judge, I.B. was arrested on charges of 'inciting the public to hatred and hostility or insulting' and was sent to prison.

Around 15:00 near the District Governorate building on 2nd Street in the Yeşiltepe neighborhood of Silopi, an individual identified as I.B. attempted to tear the Quran. He was taken into custody by police teams. After giving his statement at the police station, I.B. was referred to the courthouse and subsequently sent to the Duty Magistrate Judge with a request for his arrest following his testimony at the Silopi Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Appearing before the judge, I.B. was arrested on charges of "inciting the public to hatred and hostility or insulting" and was sent to prison.

It was learned that the individual has a criminal record of 12 offenses and is a drug addict.
