In Adana, two individuals who broke into a repair shop on New Year's morning, forced open the safe with a crowbar, and stole 600,000 TL worth of foreign currency and electronic goods were caught in a police operation.

The incident occurred around 04:30 on January 1 at a repair shop on Turhan Cemal Beriker Boulevard in the Seyhan district. Allegedly, Murat A. (30) and Azat F. (25) entered the shop by cutting the security bars on the window. Once inside, the suspects began forcing the steel safe open with a crowbar.
After approximately 2 hours, the individuals managed to open the steel safe, stole 600,000 TL worth of electronic goods and foreign currency, and fled the scene.
Since the first day of the new year was a holiday, the business owner, İbrahim P., arrived at his shop on January 2. Seeing that the safe inside had been opened, İbrahim P. reported the situation to the police. Following this, teams from the Theft and Pickpocketing Bureau were dispatched to the area.
The police examined security cameras in the vicinity and determined that Murat A. and Azat F. had carried out the robbery. The suspects, who already had prior records for theft, were caught in an operation conducted at their homes in the Onur neighborhood of the Seyhan district.
The captured individuals confessed to their crimes during their statements at the police station, and both were arrested by the court to which they were referred.
