On the 3rd day of İmamoğlu's detention, protests continue in many parts of Turkey. Citizens and university students have taken to the streets to express their reactions.
As the intensity of the reactions continues to rise, demonstrators are facing police intervention following bans sent to Governor's offices.
In İzmit, demonstrators also faced off with the police. The atmosphere became tense when university students wanting to express their reactions encountered a police barricade.
The tension ended with the intervention of İzmit Mayor Fatma Hürriyet Kaplan.
Mayor Kaplan crossed the barricade together with the young people she took with her.
