Tribal wedding in Van: 10 million TL gifted to the groom, 4 kg of gold to the bride

At a tribal wedding held in Van, 4 kilograms of gold were gifted to the bride, Hasret Bilici, and 10 million lira in cash was gifted to the groom, Üzeyir Tekçe.

Businessman Üzeyir Tekçe, a member of the Ezdinan tribe, and Hasret Bilici, from the Pinyanişi tribe, joined their lives in an outdoor wedding held in Van. 

Approximately 7,000 people attended the wedding, including tribal leaders, opinion leaders, NGO heads, business people, and the couple's relatives.

REFRESHMENTS AND CELEBRATION

For the wedding, 200 sheep were slaughtered, and guests were served roasted meat, rice pilaf, and cacık.

At the event, the bride and groom were welcomed with traditional celebration rituals.

DETAILS OF THE GIFT-GIVING CEREMONY

It was learned that the gift-giving ceremony lasted exactly 5 hours. During this time, 10 million TL was gifted to the groom, and approximately 4 kilograms of gold were gifted to the bride. About 25 people came together to count the cash gifts. It was observed that Hasret Bilici struggled due to the weight of the jewelry gifted to her.
