In Antalya, the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT), the first session of the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS), began in the morning hours. Heavy traffic formed around Akdeniz University, which made it difficult for some candidates to reach their exam locations on time.
While there was a crowd in front of the faculties before the exam, candidates began to be admitted inside before 10:00 AM. While officials frequently issued time warnings, those who were late experienced great panic in the final minutes. Candidates who brought various items with them asked their families for help with safekeeping when they could not leave these items at the entrance to the exam center.
SPENT MINUTES TRYING TO REMOVE PIERCINGS
However, one of the most notable moments was what a candidate experienced upon reaching the faculty door minutes before the exam. The candidate, who could not remove the piercings and earrings in their ear, was therefore unable to enter the exam hall.
Their family and those around them tried to intervene in the situation. As the "1 minute remaining" warning was issued, the candidate, who said they wanted to remove the accessories inside, was not allowed in by the officials. The doors closed while they were trying to remove their jewelry. The candidate, who broke down in tears, walked away from the door in sadness.
