The incident began when Z.G. came to the Robbery Bureau on 12.7.2023, claiming that her mother, F.O., had been living for 1.5 months at the specified address with an individual named İlyas Sarıkaya (49) and his mother, who suffers from Alzheimer's. She stated that her mother could not speak comfortably on the phone, and when she recently visited her mother's home, she saw wounds on her mother's body. Although her mother claimed she had fallen, she did not believe her. An investigation was launched after the daughter alleged that on 11.7.2023, her mother F.O. sent and then deleted a message saying, "I am in a difficult situation, save me, İlyas has a gun, if the police ring the bell, he will shoot me in the head."

While the suspect was being lured out by Robbery Bureau teams with the promise of receiving money from a relative, necessary precautions were taken, and the suspect İlyas Sarıkaya was apprehended with a gun loaded with bullets in his mouth and 29 cartridges.

FIRED 8 SHOTS

After informing the duty public prosecutor, the Robbery Bureau teams entered the residence on 12.7.2023 at approximately 22:30, where they found F.O. lying on the bed in a distressed state, with wounds on her body that were assessed to be gunshot wounds. The individual was transferred to Çekirge State Hospital via 112.

During the examinations of F.O., it was observed that there were a total of 8 bullet entry wounds and 5 exit wounds on her body.

In her statement, the complainant F.O. declared that on the morning of 22.6.2023, İlyas had a nervous breakdown and fired 5 shots at Recep, who was in the house, and 8 shots at her. She stated that he subsequently locked Recep's body in a room, did not allow her to call anyone, and did not provide medical treatment. She further stated that due to the foul odors, İlyas did not let her open the door to neighbors or the police who came twice, and forced her to remain silent. She also stated that she had sent a message to her daughter yesterday asking for help, which led to the police arriving and rescuing her. Furthermore, a body wrapped in a blanket was found in the room indicated by F.O.

2 AGGRAVATED LIFE SENTENCES REQUESTED

Following the prepared indictment, a lawsuit was filed against İlyas Sarıkaya for the crimes of "intentional killing", "killing with monstrous feeling or by causing torment", "deprivation of liberty by using force, threat or deception", "armed robbery against a person who cannot defend themselves physically or mentally", "qualified sexual assault" and "purchasing, carrying or possessing unlicensed firearms and ammunition", with a request for 2 aggravated life sentences and up to 50 years in prison.
