Wreckage of ship that sank in the Sea of Marmara located
Preparations for a dive are underway after the wreckage of the cargo ship Batuhan A, which took on water and sank off the coast of Karacabey, Bursa, southwest of Imrali Island in the Sea of Marmara with a crew of 6, was located using imaging devices.

Search and rescue operations for the crew of the dry cargo ship Batuhan A, which sank south of Imrali Island, resumed with the first light of day. During the night, teams descended to the ship, which lies at a depth of 51 meters, using an underwater robot to inspect the interior. The ship was imaged by the teams at a depth of 51 meters. Today, divers are expected to conduct a dive if weather conditions permit.
Bursa Governor Mahmut Demirtaş stated that search and rescue operations are ongoing in the region.
Stating that the wreck of the ship was reached with an underwater robot and a 3D model was created, Demirtaş said, "The wreck has settled on the seabed in a normal position. This will facilitate our work. Depending on the weather conditions, the teams will carry out a dive to the wreck during the day. Currently, operations are continuing with 456 search and rescue personnel."
WHAT HAPPENED?
The cargo ship "Batuhan A," which set sail from Marmara Island in Balıkesir on Wednesday, February 14, at 20:30 to head to Roda Port in the Gemlik district of Bursa, sank yesterday at 06:20 off the coast of Karacabey district due to severe weather and sea conditions. In the search and rescue efforts carried out by numerous institutions and organizations for the 6-person crew on board, an empty life raft was found in the area where the ship sank.
