Violence against animals continues: 7 dogs found dead in Mamak

An investigation has been launched after 7 puppies were found dead in a vacant lot in the Derbent neighborhood of Mamak, Ankara. The wounds on the puppies' bodies drew attention.

Massacres against animals continue. The lifeless bodies of 7 puppies were found in a vacant lot in the Derbent neighborhood of Mamak, Ankara. Following a report made to the Animal Situation Monitoring (Haydi) police, veterinarians from the Mamak Municipality arrived at the scene.

Initial examinations revealed 0.5 cm diameter wounds on the bodies of the puppies. A comprehensive investigation has been launched by the authorities following the incident.

AUTOPSY TO BE PERFORMED

No eyewitnesses were found during the initial investigation conducted by the Haydi police at the scene. Security cameras in the surrounding area are being examined in relation to the incident.

The 0.5 cm diameter holes in the puppies' bodies and the fact that their intestines were exposed revealed the extent of the brutality that took place.

To determine the exact cause of death, the 7 puppies were taken by teams from the Mamak Municipality Directorate of Veterinary Affairs to the Veterinary Control Central Research Institute in Etlik for autopsies.

CAMERA FOOTAGE TO BE EXAMINED

Mamak Municipality Director of Veterinary Affairs Nihat Toprak stated in a statement regarding the incident that they were deeply saddened by the situation.

Toprak said, "We are deeply saddened that this brutality occurred in Mamak. I am sure that the perpetrators will be caught sooner or later." Toprak also emphasized that the cause of death of the puppies would become clear after the autopsy procedures and that the perpetrators of the incident would be held accountable before justice by examining the surrounding camera footage.
