An explosion occurred at a facility belonging to the Shandong Youdao Chemical company, located in the city of Gaomi in China's eastern Shandong province.
The footage captured by security cameras shows one of the tanks blowing up, while a worker near an adjacent tank is seen fleeing in a desperate attempt to escape.
As a fireball and thick smoke rose from the area, 232 emergency responders were dispatched to the factory. Chinese state media reported that 5 people lost their lives and 19 others were injured.
Eyewitnesses stated that the force of the explosion shattered the windows of a warehouse 3 kilometers away from the factory.
The company produces pesticides as well as chemicals for medical purposes.
