Visually impaired couple falls into open manhole

In Samsun, a visually impaired couple fell into a manhole that had been left open during infrastructure work. The injured couple was taken to the hospital, and the incident was captured by security cameras.

In the Güzelyalı neighborhood of Samsun's Atakum district, a visually impaired English teacher, Güldane D.D., and her husband, Emrah D., fell into a manhole that had been left open during ongoing infrastructure work, despite safety measures being in place around the area.

Company employees and citizens rushed to help the couple. The injured were taken by ambulance to the Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine Hospital, where they are receiving treatment.

 

The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
