Visually impaired young man falls onto tracks at Gayrettepe Metro Station

In Istanbul's Şişli district, a young man who was born visually impaired and had arrived at the metro station with his girlfriend lost his balance and fell onto the tracks as the train approached the platform. Rescued by firefighters, the young man was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

In an incident that occurred around 10:30 AM at the M2 Gayrettepe Metro Station in Istanbul's Şişli district, 25-year-old E.G., who was reportedly born visually impaired, arrived at the station with his girlfriend. The young man lost his balance as the train approached the platform and fell onto the tracks.

Upon notification by bystanders, health, fire, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. E.G., who remained in the gap between the metro and the tracks, was extracted from the area by fire department crews.

E.G., who received initial medical intervention from paramedics at the scene, was transported to the hospital by ambulance as a precaution.

Services on the M2 Yenikapı-Hacıosman Metro Line, which were suspended for a time due to the incident, returned to normal after the teams completed their work.
