Following objections to the results of the March 31 Local Administration General Elections, more than 50,000 voters will head to the polls on June 2 in 3 districts and 4 towns where elections will be repeated.

The Supreme Election Council (YSK) announced the final results of the March 31 elections in recent weeks. According to the decision made by the YSK, ballot boxes will be set up once again on Sunday, June 2, for mayoral elections in the districts of Güzelyurt in Aksaray, Pınarbaşı in Kayseri, and Hilvan in Şanlıurfa, as well as in the towns of Güneykaya in Sivas's Yıldızeli district, Akpazar in Tunceli's Mazgirt district, Büyükkarıştıran in Kırklareli's Lüleburgaz district, and Sağlık in Aksaray's central district. More than 50,000 voters will head to the polls in the elections to be repeated in 3 districts and 4 towns.
HİLVAN MUNICIPALITY
The Hilvan District Election Board in Şanlıurfa had decided to cancel the district mayoral election, the municipal council membership election, and the elections for neighborhood heads (muhtars) and councils in new neighborhoods. The district mayoral election will be renewed on June 2.
PINARBAŞI MUNICIPALITY
In the Pınarbaşı district of Kayseri, the YSK rejected the CHP's request to "lift the decisions regarding the cancellation and renewal of the mayoral and municipal council elections" and decided that the elections in Pınarbaşı district should be renewed.
GÜZELYURT MUNICIPALITY
In the Güzelyurt district of Aksaray, AKP officials had objected to the election results on the grounds that "ineligible voters" had cast ballots. After an investigation, the board accepted the objection and decided to renew the election.
GÜNEYKAYA TOWN MUNICIPALITY
The elections held in the town of Güneykaya, attached to the Yıldızeli district of Sivas, were also cancelled. The elections in Güneykaya will be renewed due to a brawl that occurred after the voting process at the Güneykaya Anatolian High School, where 3 ballot boxes were set up.
BÜYÜKKARIŞTIRAN TOWN MUNICIPALITY
Elections will also be held again in the town of Büyükkarıştıran, attached to the Lüleburgaz district of Kırklareli. The CHP had objected on the grounds that 2 ineligible persons had cast ballots at 2 ballot boxes.
AKPAZAR TOWN MUNICIPALITY
In the town of Akpazar, attached to the Mazgirt district of Tunceli, the AKP had objected to the election results, alleging that some voters were not given mayoral ballots by poll workers. After an investigation, the District Election Board accepted the objection and decided to renew the election on June 2.
SAĞLIK TOWN MUNICIPALITY
In the town of Sağlık, attached to the central district of Aksaray, it was decided that the elections would be renewed on June 2 as a result of an objection filed by the AKP on the grounds that 'ineligible voters' had cast ballots.
