Dursun Metin, who was elected as the neighborhood headman (muhtar) in the Buğdaypazarı neighborhood of Çankırı's central district, passed away due to health issues shortly after taking office. Following this, the Supreme Election Council (YSK) initiated the legal process and decided to renew the headman elections. In Çankırı, citizens are casting their votes for headman elections in one neighborhood and two villages.
Following objections, re-elections for headman were also held in the Çeltikbaşı and Kese villages of the Ilgaz district.
Erkan Demir, who cast his vote in the headman election, said, "There is a headman election in the Buğdaypazarı neighborhood today. We came to the school where we will vote in the morning and cast our ballots. May our new headman be auspicious for the Buğdaypazarı neighborhood in advance."
In Kırklareli, ballot boxes were set up for by-elections for headman in the Akalar neighborhood and the Yoğuntaş village. Citizens are casting their votes to elect their new headmen in these locations, which remained vacant for various reasons.
In Kütahya, voters are participating in the voting process for the transition from village to neighborhood status. This process is considered a significant change in the local government structure.
