Warning from Ahmet Ercan after the earthquake in Sivas! 'Sooner or later, an earthquake will happen'

Following the 4.4 magnitude earthquake that occurred in the Gürün district of Sivas, earthquake expert Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ercan stated in a post on his social media account, "Sooner or later, an earthquake will occur at the location where the tension overcomes the ground's resistance."

According to data from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), a 4.4 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Gürün district of Sivas at 01:27.

It was reported that the earthquake took place at a depth of 5.33 kilometers.

While the Governor's Office announced that there were no negative incidents, Geophysics Engineer Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ercan shared a post on his social media account following the earthquake.

"SOONER OR LATER, AN EARTHQUAKE WILL HAPPEN"

Drawing attention to the earthquake that occurred in Adıyaman as well, Ercan stated, "Anatolia continues its widespread deformation at a national scale with the M4.0 in Adıyaman, the Bitlis-Zagros thrust, and the M4.5 in Sivas-Gürün on the North Anatolian Fault (NAF). Sooner or later, an earthquake will occur at the location where the tension overcomes the ground's resistance."
