This time, CHP's Yavuzyılmaz issued a warning for İzmir.

Deniz Yavuzyılmaz shared the following regarding the road that is set to become a toll road:

"Attention to all residents of İzmir and those traveling through İzmir!

Very soon, the İzmir Ring Road will no longer be free; it will become a toll road!

We have determined that there is a plan to privatize the İzmir Ring Road, which is currently operated free of charge by the General Directorate of Highways, for a period of 25 years.

Based on the toll rates of Build-Operate-Transfer model highways;

I am sharing the vehicle toll tariff that will be applied on the İzmir Ring Road after it is privatized:

Balçova-Gaziemir: 33 TL

Gaziemir-Highway Junction: 31 TL

Highway Junction-University Junction: 40 TL

University Junction-Karşıyaka: 33 TL

A total of 51 km including connecting roads

Number of vehicle crossings on the İzmir Ring Road in 2025: 141 million 298 thousand

If the privatization of the İzmir Ring Road, which was also included in the 2010 privatization package, takes place as of 2026,

When the company operates these highways using the average vehicle toll rates per kilometer of highways built under the Build-Operate-Transfer model;

The toll the company will collect from citizens in one year will be at least 4 billion 326 million Lira.

The amount that will enter the companies' coffers during the 25-year privatization process: 108 billion Lira.

At the current exchange rate, at least 2 billion 402 million Dollars.

Privatizing ring roads, the cost of which was paid for years ago with citizens' taxes, is a betrayal of the public!

Abandon this privatization plan immediately!
