Deputy Minister of Trade Mahmut Gürcan stated in a post on social media that efforts are continuing with the goal of creating a fair and competitive market in the real estate sector. Gürcan expressed that unfair price increases, particularly those made online, are being closely monitored.
With a regulatory amendment implemented in May, unjustified price increases that are inconsistent with economic data in real estate listings published online were prohibited. This regulation paved the way for the imposition of administrative fines on property owners.
4.2 MILLION TL IN FINES IMPOSED
In the investigations conducted, it was determined that 21 property owners had made price increases in their listings that did not align with economic realities since the regulatory change. In this context, a total of 4.2 million TL in administrative fines was imposed, with 200 thousand TL for each.
Gürcan stated that measures will continue to be taken rapidly to establish a transparent and balanced market structure in the real estate sector. The message was given that the Ministry of Trade will increase its inspections to prevent imbalances in the sector.
